Historic Recipe Road Show

Come to the Riverside Public Library (1 Burling Road, Riverside, Illinois) on Saturday October 12  to share your old family recipes and meet with a culinary historian who can tell you more about the recipe while the recipe is being scanned for inclusion in our Cookery Manuscript database. Recipes should be at least 50 years old and, if possible,  in their original form, either hand written or typed. The event is free but registration is required here

Iconic Diners and Hangouts

We are partnering with the DuPage County Historical Museum, as part of their new exhibit Iconic DuPage.

 

Reminisce about yesteryear when local diners and hangouts like Cock Robin, Scooby’s, and Al’s Pizza were the place to be. After hearing from Culinary Historian Bruce Kraig, representatives of Scooby’s and Al’s Pizza,and the family that owned Cock Robin will share their stories and memories.
